Attention – Effective October 14, 2024

Changes to Final Roof Inspection (B139) for a Tile Roof

Beginning on October 14, 2024, all Final Roof Inspections for tile will be conducted in one of the following ways:

Virtual Inspection : The contractor or their designated representative will inspect FaceTime with the County inspector performing the inspection.

Third-Party Verification : Alternatively, we will allow a notarized Third-Party Letter from a State of Florida Licensed Roofing Contractor in good standing or a signed and sealed letter from a Design Professional (Architect or Engineer) to be submitted to BPCustomerService@seminolecountyfl.gov for review. This letter must include the job address and permit number and list the third party's state license number, address, and name. If approved, the results may be verified online. An email response will be provided only if discrepancies or clarification are required.

To coordinate with an inspector, please look online or contact the office at 407-665-7050 starting at 7:30 a.m. the day of the inspection to obtain the inspector’s cell phone number. The inspector will provide a two-hour window for the inspection.

Please be aware that on business days, inspectors begin work at 7:30 a.m.

Effective August 23rd, 2024, the Office of the Governor executed Executive Order Number 24-174, extending the original Executive Order 22-218, to facilitate the performance of roofing work by certain contractors that the State of Florida already licenses.
